I’ve always liked Παυλος Παυλιδης and τα Ξυλινα Σπαθια… I’ve always liked his music, his style, his voice, the way his songs always make me daydream and take me to this whole new world, his world, a world of endless seas, and nature and the sun the world of pain, sometimes love, wonder, magic and all these beautiful human emotions he describes, especially in his solo songs. But I dont know what has gotten into me lately, this love I had for this artist, has turned into obsession... All I seem to do is listen to his songs, read his lyrics, make up stories, paintings and travel all under his influence, his inspiration. I think the catalyst for this obsession, was his concert, 5 days ago, in Cyprus. I saw him live before, I dont know what it was about this concert, but right after I left, i knew, i just knew that i was dazzled. I know dazzled seems like a funny word to use, but thats exactly how I feel. He’s an amazing artist,and i feel shameful about writing all these thoughts in english and not in greek, let’s just say im not that good with greek spelling.

In 48 hours or so, I will be returning back home for the Christmas holidays... I will be returning back to the old, familiar and pleasant lifestyle I MISSED SO MUCH for just two weeks.I’m really thrilled about getting to spend time with my family and my friends which I havent seen in a really long time... Im thrilled about getting the chance to go back to my favourite places, which were all I knew up to now in my life and doing all the things I did up to now in my life, like driving around with no point in a dead city, spending endless hours drinking coffee around town and watching people go by, catching up with all the gossip (of course!), going out getting wasted and ending up in my friends house waiting for the sun to come up. I’m thrilled about getting to do all these things, but to be honest, I’m gonna miss London- not school- London.

Over these three months I spent here, in London I can honestly say I changed as a person, I’ve grown, and continued with my old ways but in a different space, being completely independent, and doing all sorts of crazy stuff I wouldnt do in Cyprus. First of all, I appreciated my culture and my country and all it has offered to me these past years. They say that it’s not until you lose something that you start to appreciate it, and thats exactly what happened to me. Over these three months, I discovered so many cool stuff about my country’s culture, appreciated it so much and enjoyed my time here introducing my culture to new people as well as me. In addition, I’ve been to the most amazing places, like a crazy tourist, I explored lots of London areas and discovered some really cool spots. I feel as if this city has yet a lot more to offer to me,since it is massive and I havent been able to exlpore it all. Yet I can say with confidence I did my outmost to try and make the most of my time here. I explored MOST of the West-end, MOST of the East-end (still havent been to the Far East like Whitechappel, Mile End etc but I’m not quite sure I want to go there, OK maybe Whitechapel, in order to walk in ‘Jack the Ripper’s’ footsteps) and MOST of central London. I still havent been to the Other side of the river, in areas like Battersea, Southwark, Vauxhall which is very ignorant of me but next term I’m definitely going to explore these areas. I got the chance to listen to some amazing music, went to some amazing gigs , blues bars, jazz bars, live greek music bars etc.

Also I got the chance to integrate myself with British culture and lifestyle, more specifically with the lifestyle of a typical British person (OK I know im stereotyping right now but it’s just for the sake of putting my point accross- and ok lets be realistic, the average 20 year old British person goes about with his/her life like this). During the last month of my stay here in lovely London, due to the massive amount of work and assignments I had to do, I spent most of my weeks working like a dog 9am-10pm getting home eating like a pig and then going to bed. BUT during the weekends, I partied so hard I cant even believe myself. I always made fun of people who went out and got wasted and partied and all that cause for me it was a ‘been there done that’ situation. But trust me, now I understand the English man so much. It’s a very liberating experience, and I do not regret any of these crazy embarrassing nights I spent. Every single drink did it job in order to get stuff out of me (literally – ok i know im being really graphic- im sorry). ANYWAY, like you work so hard during the week and during the weekend you want to have some fun, so you go to your favourite place (for me it’s this underground greek place where they play some really good greek music), have a couple and maybe more glasses of wine, dance like a whore, maybe grab the microphone from the singer, make a complete fool of yourself, chat with a cute guy, and then get on the bus to get back home, going back home, discovering there’s a flat party going on somewhere around the student halls (under normal circumstances you would go there and tell them to SHUT THE FUCK UP because you’re trying to study), and deciding to join in and then around 5-6 going back to bed to wake up the next morning with make up all over your face feeling so ashamed of yourself. WELL I know it sounds really embarrassing and fucked up, but trust me, when you spend your week in a library buried under tons and tons of books, such experiences are the most fun you can get. The next day you can go for brunch at Chelsea and spend your day shopping in High-street Kensington. And then on Monday you can start WORKING again...

I’m gonna miss that routine to be honest. But I’ll be back - FOR MORE!

Living in London is really exciting when you think about it. There’s always Cool stuff going on. All you have to do is just go on timeout and cool things pop out all over the place, gigs, art fairs, gatherings, ceremonies, weird conventions etc etc. The number one reason I wanted to come to London, was for the gigs. I love music more than anything else in the world, I dont have a gift to make music myself, but I do appreciate the art. I’d give my soul and entire life to music if I could find something to accomodate me in the business and provide me with a proper living, but the chances of that are highly unlikely. So i guess I’ll just have to stick to the role of the fan.

The fact is that I’ve been livin in London for almost a month now, and I still havent been to any gigs, which is kind of making me feel like a fail fan. On Friday there’s a gig at Koko of Morcheeba and then of Various Cruelties which you should check out cause they’re both like totally cool ;p I just hope I end up going, cos if i don’t I’ll give up my fan title alltogether.

On the brightside, in November the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be playing at the O2 and I managed to buy tickets for that back in August, and they’ve just arrived and I’m really stoked about that It was always a dream of mine to go to a RHCP gig and I’m finally gonna do it.. Like Athony Kiedis was the love of my life until I turned 16 and realized that its simply not right to fall in love with people you dont actually know. Even my French IGCSE oral exam was based on him ( LAME; I know right?)

Anyway, I dont see the point of this blog entry, I just wanted to write something because I feel like I neglected my blog (which no one reads obviously but its still a nice way to pass my time).

This is my first post from my new home, London...

Well London is a strange city, to sum it up. Im quite fascinated by the way things work in this weird city to be honest... During this past month that i spent in this place, i've encountered numerous things that suprised me and at the same time impressed me/ dissapointed me...

First of all... Buses; bus drivers are the rudest people u will ever meet! I've never ever been on a bus with a nice driver, and that comeS from someone that uses buses on a daily basis.

Soas is... Well weird. Last night i went to this ritual at soas which was one of the most peculiar things ive ever experienced in my life... It was on the grass at the Russel sq campus and it was something to do with indeginous tribal offerings or something like that. There was one guy that was carrying out the whole ceremony thing and was talking about all those weird 'beliefs' of this tribe like for example the one that struck me the most is that period is sacred and that we women should consider the blood that comes out as an offering to mother earth and that we should offer it to the earth... Something like that anyways. Interesting... But weird.

Also... People in uni are always so friendly... Like wtf why are u talking to me?! I dnt want to knw about all the weird details about ur year off in india or whatever. Like. Im not a friendly and inviting person. And im not used to that , so yeah i found the whole freshers exprience quite painful.

Another thing... All the laws and regulations, like theres a law about every single thing! The other day i found out tht there is a restriction on buying scissors. U cant buy them till ur 21. Like wtf, these people need to CHILL.

Other than the weird details, ive actually enjoyed getting to know the city, which is full of amazing places,markets,bars and parks...

I guess i have a love/hate relationship with Landan :)

woah, i just realised it’s been over a month and 25 days since i last updated my blog. i am a bad blogger. the title of this post says it all though. i have trouble staying home if it involves anything else than sleeping and just being lazy. my day involves going out for coffee, going out for a drink, spending lots of time on facebook and just doing absolutely nothing. the thing is , i need to get motivated, and off my butt, because exams are approaching and i need to do well since i have a pretty demanding offer from my top choice university. oh well, to do that, i re-descovered my loyal friend zen habits that always helps in times of need. it’s such an inspirational website, visit it if you havent already, it really helps and gets you off your butt.

other than my lazy ass news, i did some pretty exciting things during this past month and 25 days, i went to athens (my second home), went to the beach twice, bought a typewritter (FINALLY), discovered some really cool music, been to some awesome new places, taken many awesome photographs, lived some really unforgettable moments (like the leaver’s celebrations – since i am officially a graduate from high school , like my football team omonoia winning the cyprus cup, like the cyprus parliamentary elections , like making lots of new friends – especially with people that i already knew for like 7 years but never gave attention to and many more.) …

in less than a month i will be a free birdie ready to enjoy summer I can’t wait really , since summer is my favourite time of the year. i dont want to leave cyprus, it’s a little piece of heaven for me. here are a few photos i took this past month, from nicosia, my beautiful hometown.. .

The strokes new single is coming out in 3 days and i simply cant wait for it, i just want this song to leak. A 35 second snippet was released the other day and i just cant get enough of it, it’s just so awesome i missed some new strokes tunes, since 2006 i’ve been listening to their old stuff which is still great but we just want more!

My news are that I recieved an offer from Queen Mary University of London for International Relations and im really excited because I love queen mary and i really wanted it to make me an offer so that I could have a nice safety choice :) that’s it for me. first post of 2011…a bit late, i admit, but better late than never.

life has been treating me well so far in this new year. i had an amazing break from school, the holidays were more than enjoyable, i honestly had the time of my life

after the holidays, there were the exams, which went fairly well in relation to how much effort i put into them (well we’ll see if they went well in about a month or two when the results come out)

and after the holidays came school. school ,old favourite school. i just wish i could fast forward to june and to graduation. dont get me wrong, i love going to school and absolutely waisting my time and waking up at 6.30 am every morning but it gets a bit old after a while, dont you think? after 13 years of school i can officially say that im over it and that i want to fast forward to my graduation in june.

after the school came the offer. the offer ive been waiting for the past 2-3 months since i sent my ucas. yesterday i received an offer from my first choice SOAS and i am absolutely thrilled and happy and excited. at the same time im having my doubts since the offer is kind of hard, its 3 As which are obtainable but not so easy to get. it means that i will have to work hard to get those grades. taking into consideration my previous paragraph and my feelings about school at the moment, that is going to be quite hard, but for the time being i am willing to make that sacrifice. after all time flies, 6 months seem nothing to the rest of my life which will start in september.

apart from my nerdy geeky news, i am planning a trip to spain this summer with my friends which im really excited about, and which i hope to actually get to do. the plan is to go to barcelona, then to madrid ,then to valencia and then to benicassim for the summer festival which will feature the STROKES ,the arctic monkeys,arcade fire, portishead, primal scream, beirut, tinie tempah, elbow, mumford and sons ,the streets, friendly fires and many many more artists. well these are the exciting news for now. at least the ones i can share on the internet to random strangers.

i’ve been listning to a lot of leonard cohen lately. i always had this deep respect for leonard cohen, his songs ,his voice and his lyrics always put my mind at a state of calmness and incredible relaxation. here are my favourites:

Chelsea Hotel No2 : even though it’s about a one night stand, it brings me that feeling of nostalgia, i think it’s in leonard cohens voice.

i havent posted in a while. and usually that happens when things are going well, and i have no reason to ramble on and on about things i hate or make me unhappy. life is awesome, and couldnt have been better.

this weekend i had one of the best weekends ever, i went for a short trip to greece with my friends, and we went to 2 night clubs w/ live greek music, like buzukia ,but not as quite. the one was w/sakis rouvas and anna vissi and was massive, it was at a place called athinon arena which is huge and has 2500 seats, and we were completely in the front row, with the best table and view of course, at the middle of the show we just jumped on stage and watched the show from there. i jsut couldnt believe that i was ON the stage WITH sakis rouvas and anna vissi. to sum up, it was a lovely experience that i will never forget. the other night, we went at this completely greek/trashy place, it was nice ,but i needed to get wasted in order to have fun, cause i dont like this type of music. it was something different, not bad ,but not something that i want to do again in the future ;)

I’ve been listening to a lot of kanye lately, my beautiful dark twisted fantasy is awesome, i havent picked out one single song that i love the most, i love them all and listen to them all day long

today i had my second tattoo , 12:51. i had it with my best friend, this song means so much to me its beyond the song really its a deeper meaning. i know that my love for what that tattoo stands for will never get old and will never go away and i know that i will never regret it no matter what. it was one of the greatest day of my lives. i realized how important it is to have friends, friends that love you and are there for you no matter what. i feel lucky enough to have met such people in my life, and i know that love for friends is the kind of love that is the most rare, simply because people have lost hope in it… i just feel lucky to experience that kind of love, and today i reassured that love not only with my friend that i had the tattoo with, but with other friends that are real and there for me whenever i need them.

this space has turned into a public diary as i see it, where i ramble about the most random shit that comes into my head and talk in a manner that i never use in real life. and most probably im the only one reading it, but thats okay, because i like it, i get to express my views on different things, and get them out of my head. i get to record them ,so they dont get lost into my huge brain and never be found again.

So here it goes.

During the past few days, ive been watching lots of films, lots of american films to be specific. I love Americans, I wish I was american. In the past, I used to be an anti-american, hating all americans and steotyping the typical american in a certain way. but recently i came to realize that americans are the only people in the world, that can be who they want to be. and that is not simply because of all the american films i watch, which legitimately you can argue that films are not realistic hence they do not absolutely portray the “typical” american or the american lifestyle or anyway american people in general. but if you think about it, who makes those films, isnt it american people ? and who writes these films, im guessing its american people. and what are films based upon? arent they based upon real life situations? the films im watching, in my opinion, are. Therefore, ive come to the conclusion, that american people live in a society (im not talking about southern states where traditional lifestyle is still quite strong – and still we can argue whether southern people are not free – they certainly are in my opinion but thats a whole different issue and a whole different arguement, which i wish not to touch upon, at least today. ) where they are allowed to be free, and to be the people they want to be. In such societies you find so much diversity and so much uniqueness. And if you are truelly free, you are not afraid of being judged, cause thats the way youve been brought up. In these societies, it’s okay to be weird, and its okay to be gay, and its okay to be differnt. Its a whole new thing, that they are promoting right now, its a wave that has yet to reach the old continent –in my opinion. Yes, western europe is supposed to be free and open mindend with europe and all that crap (amserdam, berlin, london etc) but in my opinion, ive been there and ive experienced the way of life over there, and its not like that, its not like america.

I wish i was american, then i’d be more open minded and less judgmental and less of a european douchebag ( yes im using american language now as well).

I think i have to stop watching american movies, they are having way too much influence on me.

its been a really long day

an interesting one as well.

its my friend’s 18th bday and so we went to this greek bouzouki place, which was worse than the worst. the music was just absolute rubbish, but i had no say or choice since its her bday and thats what she wanted to do.

thats not the highlight of my day

today i watched an amazing movie called “The kids are all right". I just loved it. You know, i love movies that make me think. That movie made me think a lot and made me reconsider a coulpe of things.

Generally Im not a person that jumps to conclusions or makes judgments, however, that movie made me realize that there’s no such thing as normal and that people are people, despite, gender, sexual preference, race, religion or whatever. I mean thats what i always believed , its not that that movie changed my views, it just made me think. The whole, gay thing, its just very controversial, especially if you are growing up in a christian –greek orthodox community, where stereotypes and social norms are cultivated to you from the moment you are born, it takes a lot of thought to challenge that “normal”. I feel fortunate enough to have been born into the family that i was born into, that taught me that open-mindness is not something so bad after all, and i thank my parents and sisters for that.

Anyway the point i’m trying to get across here, is that when it comes to love, and family, it doesnt matter if you are gay or straight, it matters whether there is love or hate.

After all when you fall in love with someone, you dont fall in love with their physical appearance or with their attractiveness , but with their character and you fall in love with the person. Therefore I do not believe in gay or straight, i believe in love. (fyi lust and love is something completely different. Personally i have never been attracted to a female before, or i have never seen a female in a sexual way, but that does not mean that i cant fall in love with a woman. )

i dont know how long this song has been hiding in my itunes, but last night, while i was getting ready to go to bed thing song popped up in my ipod,and while i was listening to it i experienced the massivest earorgasm . honestly the fleet foxes are just an amazing band, so unique the voice of their singer is just so calming and it just gives you an amazing sense of relaxation (the song is not sobby or anything its quite dynamic in fact but calm and just relaxing). just what i needed.

after my massive breakdown on monday, yesterday and today i spent the day relaxing and getting back to my normal self. i finally found my lost nirvana and im really happy. also yesterday i hadnt checked ucas once (surpirse surprise) and guess what, an offer came out of nowere! from city university london ! it is my safety choice, but still its nice to get some sort of reassurance or know that ur standing on safe ground :) at the same time im quite sad bcz yesterday my 2 bestest friends recieved declines, one from ucl (her best choice) and the other from nottingham (her top choice- but she really didnt what to go there- here heart is set on london just like mine). Anyway now im really relaxed and i can finally get on with my studying which i have neglected :)

endless smoking, worrying, obsessing,stressing, eating, studying, email checking, singing and drinking coffee…

still no offers from ucas. it’s all i seem to think abotu lately, i think hair is gonna start falling off from my head. I cant fucking concentrate on anything else. I have an endless to do list which i cant fucking complete because every fucking 10 minutes i check ucas to see if something changed. it’s 1.35 and im trying to finish an economics essay since 10.30. Normally this takes me about an hour MAX. fuck i cant concentrate…pft luckily my mood is okay im happy- thanks to cee-lo. I think i should start taking some valium, seriously i need something to calm me down. I think that 90% of the time im hyperactive, all over the place it’s like im drugged or something. any tips?

Im so fucking behind everything, i cant get on with my usual activites, im way behind music, fashion, tv ,movies, series and everything i used to to while i was still my usual self. Yesterday was the first day i managed to sit down and actually study for one hour non-stop for the first time during this school year. I go out all the time in order to get the ucas thing off-my head but i ways end up checking it from my phone. im desperate, honestly and icant help it. the wather isnt helpign as well , its so fucking sunny and nice and warm. When the weather is bad, im usually mroe calmed down, sad adn stuff, but now, i just cant. i cant get into my usual habits, my routine,and i feel that im falling behind. like right now im shaking, im fucking shaking…

if there’s one thing i hate most in life, that must be waiting. god do i hate waiting. it’s just a terribly bad feeling. it just creates anticipation, it builds up hope, it builds up uncertainty, doubt , insecurity and it’s just BAD. All i have to do now is wait, wait for unis to reply to me, possibly in january/february/march. pft.

i will compile a list of sad autumn songs during this week, it’s just that autumn has not yet arrived in my beautiful country, it’s just nice and warm and sunny and that is getting kind of irritating to say the least. im just tired of warm and sunny, i want leaves falling and the sky to be dark and i want rain and snow (!), in order to get into that melancholic winterish feeling which i love and cherish since its been a loooong time since ive felt that kind of way. anyway ,lets hope that by December things will get better, or worse in that case.

Today I had a car accident. With a teacher. At my school. In front of EVERYONE. Well, in high-school, if that happens to you, it is basically a massive embarrassment that will haunt you forever. When the whole thing happened, at first, I did not even think about what others really thought about it, because really, recently, or let’s say, ever since I got my license most people looked down on me as a driver labeling me with the title of a “clueless GIRL that drives the beetle that her dad bought her”. Well, that seems to be an issue in Cyprus, where I live, and in my school. Everyone is so quick to judge people and situations and it’s not even an issue of feeling bad about it or even trying to empathize with the people involved. Don’t get me wrong, I love my country, and everything about it, including the ignorant ,inconsiderate, arrogant and rude douche bags that live here (which I can assure you, comprise a LARGE part of the Cypriot population). I mean that’s what happens in small communities right? People talk, and people WILL be mean, but rarely in front of you. I mean that’s why I am a bit paranoid as well. Anyway that’s not the point, the point is that I love Cyprus even with all its flaws and inconsiderate inhabitants. But I’m just tired of all these social rules and roles that everyone has to follow. I mean everything is so forward but backward at the same time. It’s like a two-faced coin, or a pretty girl that is really mean (let’s say like Amy Adams in Mean Girls). Everyone wants look as liberal, non-racist, non-judging, but at the same time behind yoru back they are everything BUT what they claim to be. And it’s not just one person, it’s every fucking person in this country. I dont know I mean , even with my self, I find myself talking bad about people that I dont even know and like looking down on people, for things i shouldnt even judge. I mean it’s the fucking society. It’s the way it functions. It’s OKAY to look down on people just because they have an old car, and it’s OKAY to talk badly about someone just because they don’t look good – or rather have an appearance that does not fit into what’s considered normal or beautiful. It’s OKAY to call someone “BLACK” or “PHILIPINO” and imply they are something inferior. Those things are UN-acceptable and they frustrate me SO-fucking-much. People are raised to be that way, and everyone has a fair share of blame for the cultivation of this mentality into children who go on to be adults. The education system, the parents, the friends, the teachers. Everyone is to blame. It’s just the way it is you know here in Cyprus.

I just feel so lucky that I have a family that is so completely different than all these douchebags that I am surrounded with, and I feel so awfully lucky that in times when I get carried away and fall into the trap of thinking in that particular “Cypriot Mentality” my family is always there to bring me down to earth and remind me what’s wrong and what’s right.

What is the point of all that that I just rambled about? The point is that I shouldn't give a fuck about all these things and the point is that at the end of the day, you are the only person that you will have to be stuck with for the rest of your life, you are the only person that you can rely on and at the end of the day you just have to pick up your pieces and try to make a life of all the mess you create. That’s what we do – we break the world, and then we fix it, we HAVE to fix it – it is our only choice. And finally, if you are lucky enough to find some other people that can help you along with this process called “Life” then you are “Blessed” and you should feel lucky. I love my father, i love my mother and I love my two sisters to death. I also love my TRUE friends. These are the only people that really matter to me.

I just missed autumn. Cyprus is so damn sunny . I mean don’t get me wrong, I love the sun more than anything in the world, but after 7 or 8 months of sunny weather I missed the cold rainy winter…. I missed my raincoat and my blazers and boots and scarfs and umbrellas… 6 days until I go to London <3 It’s my favourite period to go to London… Last year I went in November and it was fucking beautiful. Not very cold but definitely not hot –it was just perfect… I finally sent my UCAS. Turns out I love London too much that I’m willing to risk getting absolutely no offers other than City (which I hope accepts me!). I applied to LSE, UCL, SOAS and QMUL which are quite competitive when it comes to getting in..However, I prefer NOT going to uni if it’s not in London. I know it sounds a bit stupid but that’s just me. When I do something I want to stick to my moto, which is “Ether do it your way/all the way , or don’t do it at all”.

Yesterday after I sent my applications I started looking at apartments in London and I found some really good ones :) Hopefully if my 2 best friends also go in London we can all share an apartment in West London <3

one of my main motos in life which i try and apply as much as i can is “ always remember where you came from”/ Never forget who you were and never feel ashamed of who you were… therefore, from time to time i tend to go back to my roots and who i was a couple of years ago and reminisce (hence the song i posted as today’s song – for those of you who dont know i was and i still am a huge nirvana fan it’s probably my favourite band ever. PROBABLY. not really sure).

Anyway, the thing that got me reminiscing and remembering stuff etc was the university applications which i am hoping to complete by tomorrow. All of this summer and september I’ve been thinking about where to apply, and for what. A lot of things have crossed my mind, but it all comes down to what I always wanted to do, and who I always was ever since i was in lets say 3rd and 4th form. I always loved history and even through 3 days ago i said i wouldnt apply for history since i got a B in my AS, i finally did what my heart told me to do and applied for history and politics at the 2 out of the 5 unis im applying to. (hopefully one of the 2 will accept me…).

So i’m applying to LSE, SOAS, Queen mary uni of london, Uni of Sheffield and City . I really really really like LSE , SOAS and Queen Mary and i really like the dept of politics in Sheffield , since its one of the best in the country. I really hope i get in though and im kind of worried since all of my unis except city are really competitive and hard to get into. Anyway , fingers crossed- whatever will be will be…

at the end of the day, it’s not about money or job security, it’s about doing what you love, and taking pride in your work and enjoying what you do. honestly i really hope i get into soas. i really want to study asian and african history since im really tired of this euroepan concnetrated history ive been doing all of my life. im tired of being taught about the world wars over and over again, i want to know about what happens in the rest of the world, im tired of this western idea of learning . i want to get a taste of india really, since i was always interested in india and south east asia … i dont know if ill get in though cause i dont demonstrate much interest in those areas in my statement…

I’m so glad statement shoes are out. I used to be a shoe-addict, my room is full of shoes and there are lots of shoes that I have had for like 2 or 3 years and haven't wore them once.

At the beginning I was so pissed at new trends but now i seem to be embracing them. I’m through with going out and seeing girls wearing ridiculously high shoes and not being able to walk in them. I can't wait to get rid of my colorful and trashy 13cm tall heels buy a plain pair of booties that I can wear with my jeans and hoodies.

turns out im sick. really sick. I cant speak cause my voice sounds like shit, and i cough all the time and my throat hurts. On top of that my nose is blocked as well so it’s really hard to breathe since both my nose and throat are fucked up… Also, my eyes and ears hurt and I also feel a constant headache/migraine and finally I have a mild fever and i am constantly dizzy.

At least I will be going to London in less than a month, and I’m really excited since I love love love London and I cant wait to go there cause I really missed it, it’s been almost a year since I last been there (last November) and so many things have changed. Im just glad that im going to London for a good reason ,this time round. (Last year we went for a medical problem of my father)

Sometimes all I want to do is just sit and listen to music. Just music. Yesterday I was driving in my car alone (My cd player is broken) and I was trying to find a good music station , “There is a light that never goes out” started playing and it reminded me how much I missed good music. In the summer you just get carried away and listen to pop and dance hits all the time and it just felt weird listening to Morrissey again. Well I guess it’s a sign that summer is over and that fall and school and normal life is back. I guess that when I listen to the Smiths I can’t help but feel winter all around me, I guess it’s Morrissey’s voice and his lyrics. Whatever it is that reminds me of winter and cold, I can’t say that I missed it, but I’m just tired of feeling useless all the time. All I do is go out and spend money and do nothing useful. Oh Well, in less than a week I’ll be back at school.

I’m getting a little bit tired of all this 90s comeback craze. I mean we all love a simple tan shade coat and it always has been an essential piece of clothing but lately all is see is tan,brown and khaki .Why should we take out all of the fun? Fashion is supposed to be about experimenting and being fun and creative. And with all this minimal simple clean cut approach there is little space for that. Plus the choices are limited for the women that dont look like models.

Other than my disappointment in the new fall’s trends, I’ve been on the lookout for a new coat (just like every year) but I just cant seem to find the perfect one (eg. like the one pictured above- teen vogue sept2010).

Also I just came back from California and all I have to say is that It was one of the greatest experiences of my life. During those 3 weeks I’ve been to the most amazing places, seen the most amazing things and filled my heart with amazing memories and experiences. We started our trip from Los Angeles, and then we went up to San Francisco (we visited Santa Monica, Malibu, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz ,and many other villages in between on our way to san Fran). After San Francisco we went down to San Jose and then from San Jose we drove down to Las Vegas (on one of the days that we stayed in Vegas we drove to the Hoover Dam and to the Grand Canyon). After Vegas we visited Palm Springs and after Palm springs we went down to San Diego . After San Diego we returned to Los Angles, where we spent 2 days Downtown and then went down to Anaheim where we spent 2 days in Disneyland and California adventure and one day in Universal Studios.

My Favourite things from this trip were :

San Francisco – I cant describe how much I loved this city , I just felt like I belonged there. It was more than words can describe.
Venice Beach – no explanation needed , we went there at around 6-7 in the afternoon on a Sunday and it was more than awesome. It was full of skaters and people doing all sorts of things such as playing sports and working out ,cycling , swimming and even surfing.
Santa Monica Pier- We went there really early in the morning so it was kind of empty but I really liked it. There were people jogging on the beach and taking their dogs for a walk, just like in the movies!
San Diego – Even though we didnt spent much time downtown, I could tell from the vibe that I got that San Diego is a really beautiful city with lots to offer. I just loved the air of San Diego.
California Adventure’s World of Colours – Best water show EVER, it even made me cry, honestly it was one of the best shows I’ve ever watched.
David Copperfield’s show at MGM Grand in Vegas– The guy is a Legend. Honestly I didn't expect him to be so much fun and so good, he had some really good tricks too!
Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills – Immediately as we stepped in this magical world I just felt like I belonged. It was just like in the movies, way too surreal. (The only part that I didn't like was that I didn't actually shop anything there since the shops there are ridiculously overpriced)
The Viceroy at palm springs – I booked all of our hotels online so most of them were good but average, nothing special. But with the Palm springs hotel I was surprised to find that our hotel was more than fabulous. I really loved it, the decor was marvelous and the little pool was just what we needed to relax!
Vegas- Just to sit and watch all of the lights of vegas was more than enough to me and compensated for the fact that I couldn't actually get in a club or something since i’m considered “underage” in America (underage my ass – they let 16 year olds drive and they don't let them drink alcohol , kind of weird don't u think?)
The Grand Canyon – Anyone who’s been there knows what I’m talking about, this place is out-of-this-world. Enough said.

In exactly 2 days I will be turning 18 , in other words, I will be a legal adult (at least in Cyprus) and I’m really depressed about that. I don’t want to turn 18, I just don’t. I can’t believe that I spent 18 years of my life doing absolutely nothing. Well, I may sound a bit romantic and stuff, but I really wish that I could stay a teenager, I guess I’m afraid of the responsibilities of being a mature adult. People judge adults a lot more than they do judge teenagers, when you’re a teenager you have an excuse of doing silly things and getting drunk and generally being silly, but when you’re an adult it just looks kind of lame and pathetic. It’s just a bit ironic though, cause I spent all my life wishing I was an adult and be independent and do whatever I want. I guess the only positive things about turning 18 is that I will be able to get a tattoo without my parents getting mad at me and also that I will be able to get a driving license which I want more than anything at the moment.

After a long week’s absence, I’m back . Finally I am enjoying my summer and making the most of it. I rarely stay home, most of the time i go out for coffee or dinner, or to the beach or at the pool with my friends. This weekend I went to the beach with 7 of my girlfriends and we had an amazing time there. It was the first time I went to the beach this year so I anticipated it a lot. On Friday we went to a beach party and it was a loooot of fun.

On Saturday we went at a club, called –2. It was my first time there and I really liked it. It’s supposedly one of the best clubs in cyprus and It was quite different from the other clubs I’ve been to. It’s very big and it has a nice decor. However, it was quite full and crowded but after a drink or two that wasn't much of a problem ;) At 6 AM when we left, we went home and immediately put our swimsuits and went directly to the beach. I never did that before and it was a lot of fun, the beach was awesome, it was very clean and empty and quite and tranquil and generally it was an awesome but tiring experience (but it was worth it) .

Yesterday I went through what I like to call, “Post- Exam Depression” , thinking about what went wrong in my exams and feeling terrible and sad and unable to do something about it and bla bla bla :P

Today , I am very happy, luckily the weather was very nice today, I went for a driving lesson and then I went to pick up my order from the post office . A week ago I ordered some swim suits , since I am going to Mykonos and California this year, I couldnt afford NOT having fabulous bikinis :) I also ordered two sunglasses .

I watched these videos from the MTV site one or two weeks ago, but I couldnt find them in Youtube and when I did for some strange reason, I was restreicted from watching them due to “regional restrictions” .

Anyway, today I checked Lil Wayne’s vevo and it seems like I can watch them. I was really excited when they made a video for Knock Out since it’s one of my favorites out of his album Rebirth, so i was thrilled to find out he filmed a music video for it. I can’t really say it was exactly what I expected, I think It could have been a bit different and a bit better.

Also about “Da Da Da” and “Get a life” I loved them, I thought that the idea of a “roof” performance was awesome, plus I loved his shades .Generally I loved them both.

About “Runnin” I cant say that I’m that excited about it. Basically I generally dislike Shanell , I hate her style, I hate that hideous chain she has on her nose, I hate her nails, and I hate that she is f*cking with lil wayne . End of story. :)However the video is the best out of all the new ones.

Oh , 4 more days until I get to enjoy my summer. I still cant believe it that one year has gone by since my last summer. It went by so fast… And oh my god, it was one HARD year. I dont know, I just feel so depressed that I devoted so much to school this year, and it all comes down to 2 crappy weeks full of failure. I just think that it’s unfair that my whole year will be judged upon a dozen of papers that are not representative of my capabilities.

Right that is it, Oasis are finally no more. Like Joe DiMaggio's legendary Number Five shirt, the name has been officially retired.

For a while it looked like Oasis might stagger on like a headless zombie after Liam Gallagher threatened to keep using the name for his new band, admitting that if he couldn't come up with "something else by the time we're ready to release the album it'll be Oasis - I'm not going to call myself something ridiculous just for the sake of it."

Well, he has come up with something else, and it's only a little bit ridiculous. Ladies and gentlemen, please give a warm welcome to Beady Eye, the new name for the band featuring Liam, Gem and Andy Bell.

Right off the bat Beady Eye feels perfect for Liam. He has the eyes. As anyone who has ever been scrumming down the front of an Oasis gig will tell you, there's something about the frontman's stare that is compelling: part magnetic, part maniacal; so you can understand, with its crow-like connotations, why Beady Eye got the nod.

Yet this is supposed to be a band name, and something about Beady Eye doesn't sit right. You can't chant it without sounding like you're supporting a non-league football team (and surely Liam is aiming to get back to the stadiums) and its T-shirt potential feels somewhat limited and possibly even slightly sinister outside of gigs (perhaps they should have gone for the more text message friendly BD-i). Plus we're all waiting for Noel's verdict – or better still, sarcy version – and Beady Eye feels a bit like a full toss that's going to be walloped for six (can I get a fiver on him calling them Gammy Leg by the end of the summer, please?).

Admittedly a lot of people thought Oasis was a ropey name when they first emerged in the early 90s, yet now it looms over British music like a giant, so I won't be surprised if in five years time we learn to stop worrying and love the 'Eye, but the initial reaction is: great potential album title, even better sunglasses spin-off from Pretty Green, but terrible band name.

However, it feels like the band are on the right path. As the news broke earlier in the week, NME Radio's Jon Hillcock got listeners to suggest some very plausible body part-related names that Liam and co could consider. Fat Lip, Tennis Elbow, or even my own favourite, Square Jaw? See anything you like Mr Gallagher?

I feel like I have so much to post that If i had a blog entirely about Morrissey, I could write for years and still not run out of material…

I dont know I think the reason why everyone loves Morrissey ,is his incredible honesty. Either he is just 100% honest or 100% fake. Either way, he’s just so inspiring and I dont know, he’s not afraid to be provocative. Either he’s aiming for it or that’s just the way he is. And to be honest I think people dont really care about which one is the actual reality, they just care for what they see. Which absolutely incredible. He’s just one of the greatest musicians to have ever lived… And not only, I find him an incredible human being . He’s so honest, like ,no one has ever spoke of hate of being something so natural, yet we all feel it. I certainly hate more than I love. Morrissey puts all those feelings in words and in lyrics and in songs. One of my most favourite modern musicians , Noel Gallagher notably praised him on numerous occasions. I think the reason of why I love them both is quite the same to be honest. They are both incredibly smart , incredible lyricists, they both have incredible guts and they are both British. Enough said….

In an interview Morrissey was asked 'which is your absolute favourite song? Do you have one?'

Moz:"It’s different songs every day. I always listen to music and to list just one song, among the two hundred foremost that make me cry, would be an impossibility. And the fact that they make me cry doesn’t necessarily have to imply that they have dramatic, tragic lyrics. They just touch me in a way that nothing else in the world could. Could you, offhand, name the two or three best singles ever recorded, yourself?"

What a fucking better way to put exactly what i feel in words? I think everyone relates to that, and that just one more reason why everyone loves Morrissey..

This summer I turn 18, and I really want to get a tattoo… I really liked this one as an idea ( from 5 inch and up) but probably if I get one like this one, I would make it all black and a bit smaller and probably somewhere else….

Other than the video, today I had my Geography exam, I feel quite confused about that, however I’m glad it’s out of the way! Next week it’s kind of tough I have 7 exams in 5 days…. Phew, i hope i survive AND do well …. :D I got to go now, I’m gonna go to a friend’s house for swimming since the weather is AWESOME it’s sunny and I’m loving it! :) Can’t wait till summer :D

God, it’s my favourite season of the year! Exams !!! I am so tired, today is officially the first day of studying, and I’m already tired, my bones hurt :(

This is what my room looks like right now, i think the photos speak for themselves, it’s such a mess!!!

I already did one exam out of the 12 I will do this summer… I cant really say that It went brilliantly , since it was the French oral exam, and I cant help my self in orals, I was acting like a spastic shouting and saying useless stuff in french. The passage I got was also kind of hard, it was about rave parties, I rarely know what rave parties are, imagine having to talk about them, IN FRENCH :p However, Im glad its over and done with. Currently I’m studying history , economics and Classical Civilisation and I still have to finish geography, maths (core 1,2 and statistics) and french…

In exactly one month, I will be free to enjoy the summer and the nice weather…Hopefully this will be one of the best summers ever! Here is a preview of what this summer is hopefully going to be like for me…

this is for my favourite sports team in the world. last week omonoia won the championship, by winning Apoel for the 3rd time this year and therefore increasing the gap between her and anorthosis (the 2nd team ) to 7 points. This weekend, at the last game of this season, we practically played with our 2nd team , not the best players, and we won Anorthosis in their home stadium with 2-4. I found this amazing video with all the 60 goals of this year, of all the matches … I hope you will enjoy watching them as much as I did…

This was our 20th championship and now we have exactly the same number of championships as Apoel (even though omonoia was founded much later than apoel…)

justin bieber hate

Recently I came accross many justin bieber haters. and i cant help but wonder, why hate him so much? Personally, I think he’s great. He’s just a 16, year old that has so much influence on young girls. Isnt that great? and on the other hand, consider my view of things and think about it for a second.

For example, I personally hate Miley Cirus. I think she’s ugly and annoying. However, I respect the fact that she is doing what she is doing and I acknowledge the fact that what she did is something incredible. Look at how much influence she had on so many young children- it’s incredible, and also, no one can deny that she is talented. See? that’s how we think of art. We appreciate it and respect it, even if we don't like it.

btw who else thinks that baby and eenie miney are addictive? :p
